Since Phase 1 will begin in a few hours it's about time we created a FAQ. The questions here will be updated as we gain more information throughout the closed beta. Help in what questions we need and providing information is very much appreciated. If information is incorrect, please feel free to correct it.
First, what is a marksman?
Marksmen are the equivalent of archers in this game. Instead of using bows, they use rifles.
Class Spotlight
The Marksman is first and foremost the primary source of ranged damage dealing in the game. As a Marksman gains levels, they will be provided with the means to both hold their enemies in place, as well as completely level anything nearby with a wide array of single target and AoE attacks.
One of the most unique characteristics about the Marksman class is their Crack Shot mode. During regular hunting of monsters (or even other players), a Marksman can generate bullets inside of a special magazine. At any point in time, the Marksman can enter Crack Shot mode, which consumes the stored bullets for added benefits to skills and talents.
Rifles? You mean there are no bows in this game?
Yes. No longbows, crossbows, shortbows, hornbows, no bows.
Is being a marksman exclusive to dwarfs?
Yes, no other race can be marksmen as of now.
I want to play a tank dwarf, is that possible?
No, same as marksmen being exclusive to dwarfs, dwarfs are exclusively marksmen.
You mentioned they are using rifles, do we need ammunition?
Instead of using direct ammunition, we have a bullet system.
Bullet system?
While battling, you use certain skills to receive soul bullets which are stored and are required for certain skills. These soul bullets can then be consumed by activating Crack Shot Mode which makes your attack skills more powerful. Soul Bullets also passively enhance your attack depending on your level and how many is stored.
That sounds complicated...
It isn't, really. You'll understand easily enough once you get to play a marksman.
Do these soul bullets expire?
No, they do not. They last until you use them or you die, where your bullet count will reset to zero.
They won't disappear even if I log out?
Yes, even if you log out.
Are marksmen good for PVP?
As many would say, it depends more on how you play it. It's not about how a class is good for PVP, it's about how good a player is. Also, playing a marksman requires timing, you cannot just go ahead and push all your skill shortcuts simultaneously.
How do I learn skills?
You can learn skills by talking to a Marksman Tutor located in cities.
My skills are different from my talents?
Yes, the talent tree will be what decides your build. You can start your tree when you reach lv20.
I want to be a marksman, what should my build be?
We have three talent trees. Sniper, Control and Bombardier.
Here's to give you an idea of what path you should take:
Sniper - Balanced PVP/PVE - Monster knockbacks, party buffs
Control - Specializes in PVP - Enemy debuffs
Bombardier - Specializes in PVE - AOE
More information detailing each tree will be given in marksman guides throughout closed beta.
Click to view the talent trees.
Once I start my build through a certain tree, can I not pick other trees anymore?
You can. We currently have no hybrid builds documented, but through experimenting, we might come up with hybrid trees in the future. As of now though, going hybrid is strongly discouraged.
If I mess my tree up, can I reset it?
Yes. There is an item you can get earliest from a lv20 box, which you can then use by talking to the given NPC.
Both mages and marksmen are considered nukers from a distance, what makes them different?
Although the marksman has AOE skills, mages are more favoured for area damage, while marksmen for single targets.
I received a quest on my first pet, what should I get?
It's your pet, you decide. The wolf is an attacker, the ram can heal, the turtle is a tanker.
Can dwarfs ride stonemen?
Yes, similar to the carry system in PWI, dwarfs can ride stonemen and be carried by other races for that matter. Only the females though, so far.
Why do female dwarfs look like little girls? How old are they?
Asking a woman her age is impolite, although in-game it is stated from a quest that they are 10 and a half years old.
Information will be updated as people ask questions and we receive more data.

The bullet system, as you refer to it will be called 'crack shot' mode.
Also, in my own personal opinion, the trees are more along the lines of
PvPvE
PvPvE
PvE
They just provide a different play style between sniper and control.
Sniper buffs the party.
Control debuffs the bosses/players.
Also hybrid builds, from the looks of the talent tree, show that going hybrid will gimp you more than anything.
Losing encourage completely removes a lot of the aspect of going sniper, same with burst of rage for control and burning rage for bombardier.

There will be absolutely no shortbows and longbows or what? I always play with scout/ranger because they use bows but i really doubt that i will do the same here..i will be probably a assassin or vampire but my question is : will there be no bows in-game as usable weapon?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Does the Marksmen have to kite, or take off running, while fighting mobs solo? The archer in PW had to do this sometimes.

Marksmen survivability is pretty decent x] I never kite. It doesn't matter if its a regular mob or elite one.

Made minor updates courtesy of our posters here.
As Mini said, kiting isn't needed, well at least for now as we're still in the early levels. We still don't know if the dwarf's durability can handle higher level monsters in the future.
But you want to conserve hp, you can kite. I've tried it and you can easily kill monsters without receiving damage. It only slows down your leveling though.
